Now I will always imagine Bruce hunched over his keyboard in the cave, muttering to himself:  ”What?  Real_Bat was already taken?  Jeez, so was Real_Bat1?  Dang it!”

Also, my eyes trick me into seeing those smileys as actually in the text, giving the whole message a…less than stern feel to it. “The life of a hero is nothing but angst and suffering, kid. ;) ”

I’m such a sucker for scenes of Kara with her baby cousin, and I really love the Silver Age feel of Krypton in the reboot.

JL 0 AKA “Shazam:  Maybe We Need to Set the Bar a Little Lower.”  I think I need to apply this approach to this title.  It’s not at all good, but I suppose it sometimes TRIES to be good, and maybe that’s all we can hope for.

Batwoman 0 is so good.  Not Rucka-good, but nothing is.  Is it crazy that I prefer Williams’s art when it’s the more stylized Kate than when it’s the surreally hyper-realistic Batwoman?

Good to see some Natasha Irons out there—even in her bizarre Ame Comi costume she kicks some ass.

Phantom Stranger 0 was so frustrating.  I love the Phantom Stranger, and I find Judas fascinating, and the idea that they’re the same person seems amazingly resonant.  Little touches like the silver circles on his jacket being the silver coins, or his robe being Christ’s robe, are really nice.  But it’s all undermined by the incredibly clunky writing, darn it.
